SEEKING FUNDING? INFORMATION

  1. What kind of companies can apply?

Any company working in games or interactive entertainment. You can be a start up, an established mature business; looking for either project-specific funding or company-specific deals. The market is not strictly limited to ‘games’ - we expect our attendees will include technology ideas and VR concepts.

A good production track record and a highly promising project/company aimed at the international market will put you in good stead. Your application will require you prove that your offering is packaged to a level that financiers can realistically consider, with some key elements in place.

Spaces are limited to 60 games companies (with two representatives from each company maximum allowed to attend).

Applications are open to all UK studios and also those from outside the UK. As part of Games London’s remit is to drive investment into local games businesses, applications from London-based businesses may be fast-tracked.

  2. What kind of investors will attend?

As well as both triple-A and indie game publishers and platform holders, we invite VCs, IP owners, media funds and public organisations, online and physical distributors and more. We also expect to welcome one or two trade delegations of studios and investors from foreign markets.

  3. General selection criteria

    • Strong applications will include data on the success of prior products (this can be a combination of sales data, investor information, regulatory documents, awards received, chart placements and so on).

    • We welcome first projects from new businesses. If you are applying with a first project, please outline the previous experience of your team.

    • Please note: the information submitted through your application is initially for assessment use only and will not be visible to attending investors. If selected, you'll then have a chance to proof your information at a later date before it is available to other attendees at the market.

    • If selected, basic company and project information you provide in your application will be used to build an online company profile, which will be presented on a private GFM delegate site.

  4. Delegate fees

It is free to apply to the GFM.

If selected, each studio is required to pay an admin fee for attendance, which covers the costs of hosting delegates at the market. Participants gain exclusive access to our private GFM meeting site and attendance includes a personalised schedule of meetings for each participating company; built by the games London team and is based on your requirements and preferences for the market. Delegates will be provided with daily lunch/refreshments and networking opportunities around the market.

The studio fee is £299 (+ VAT and processing fees) per company and covers up to two delegates.

Details for payment will be provided upon notification of selection.
